CASE STUDY
CENTER FOR AGRICULTURaL DEVELOPMENT & ENTREPRENEURSHIP (CaDE)
Project Background
In the Spring of 2025, CADE sought 2-3 Consultants to provide 1:1 branding and marketing services to 8-10 beginning farmer clients. They selected groups experienced in brand development, graphic design, marketing strategy, and monitoring and evaluation of marketing tactics. Taste the Local Difference was selected to provide services to 5 awardees.
Our Approach
We met with each of the selected farms to assess their specific needs so we could present them with marketing recommendations customized to their business.
Once the farms chose a path forward, our team got to work on their new websites, design assets, and marketing plans!
ABOUT CADE
CADE's mission is to increase the number and diversity of viable farm enterprises and related businesses across the supply chain in New York through technical assistance, education, mentoring, network-weaving, partnerships, advocacy, and research.

FLOWERHEaD FaRM
Flowerhead Farm needed a digital home and a strategy to sell its cut flowers.
Using Squarespace, we designed a simple one-page website that highlighted the farm’s offerings and encouraged people to stop by their farm stand.
With their custom marketing plan in hand, they had a clear path forward on how to reach their target audience, make strong connections, and boost flower sales.
Please note that live websites may have had changes made by after the completion of the project.
GHOST LIGHT FaRM
Ghost Light Farm came to us to help them develop a cohesive brand identity that felt farm-direct and authentic.
Doing so would help them succeed in retail and upscale markets by building consumer trust through consistent visual design, storytelling, and professional presentation.
With a custom marketing plan and fresh design assets in hand, Ghost Light Farm was positioned to grow beyond farmers markets into regional grocery, co-op, and online sales.
SERRa VIDa FaRM
Serra Vida Farm wanted their marketing efforts and communications to be easier, more consistent, and reflective of their mission.
We were able to help Serra Vida clarify and share their story, centering reciprocity, cultural roots, and community connection. Through copywriting support, refreshed design assets, and a detailed marketing plan, they could ensure the farm’s values and identity are reflected across materials, with room for future growth.
