CASE STUDY
FOOD SPICE
Project Background
We partnered with MSU’s Center for Regional Food Systems to provide subsidized marketing technical assistance as part of their Food SPICE program.
Food SPICE (Food Systems Partners Investing in Communities and Entrepreneurs) is a group of food systems stakeholders working together to strengthen the viability, resilience, and equity of Michigan regional food economies.
From fall 2020 to fall 2024, the program connected food businesses and other food systems partners to work together to grow equitable local economies across Michigan, with a special focus in Southwest Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.

ABOUT MSU CENTER FOR REGIONAL FOOD SYSTEMS
Their work is focused on engaging the people of Michigan, the United States, and the world in developing regionally integrated, sustainable food systems.

STICKY SPOONS JaM
Sticky Spoons Jam came to TLD seeking an upgraded website that included eCommerce capabilities and seamless integration with their inventory software.
Since their storefront receives high traffic from summer travelers, the initial goal was to make it easy for these visitors to reorder online once they returned home. Their long-term goal is to leverage search engine optimization (SEO) and social media to continually drive new customers to their website.
We built Aiye a website on Shopify that worked well for both her as the business owner, and her customers.
Aiye reported an over 200% increase in wholesale accounts and a 17% increase in overall revenue less than a year after the launch of their new website!
Please note that live websites may have had changes made by outside parties.
